What is it?:
The Pascagoula River Basin Recreational Corridor project is an effort to promote the public use and enjoyment of the entire Pascagoula River and its natural resources, widely recognized as the last large unimpeded river system in the contiguous United States.

Vision: To provide opportunities for people to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Pascagoula River watershed.

Goal: To establish and maintain a system of trails, camping and picnic sites, and water access points that will constitute a system of recreational sites and opportunities across the entire reach of the Pascagoula River (headwaters to gulf).

Sponsoring Group: The Pascagoula River Basin Alliance – this organization's mission is to promote the ecological, economic and cultural health and viability of the Pascagoula , Leaf, Chickasawhay, and Escatawpa Rivers and their watersheds by fostering research, communication, and action.

Plan of Action:

•  Identify existing public sites, the uses that each may support, opportunities for site amenities and, most importantly, local groups that can help to maintain and promote each site.

•  Develop a marketing strategy that will help promote the use of the system.
